Bacterial Vaginosis is common
BV occurs when the natural balance of bacteria in the vagina changes. Normally, beneficial bacteria including Lactobacillus help maintain the vagina's naturally acidic environment. When this balance is disrupted, vaginal pH may increase and bacteria associated with BV can become more dominant.
